A Fast-Drying Spray-On Moisture Barrier Product For Concrete Foundation Construction

Concrete Treat is a revolutionary new concrete sealing product. It forms a clear silicate bond in the pores of the concrete, eliminating the need to apply grade line tar (dampproofing) on a concrete foundation.

Common Grade Line Problems in New Construction

When new foundations are placed, the construction contractor will often apply a layer of tar on the outside walls. This tar is applied to protect the foundation walls from water and moisture in the soil around them. However, tar has the following shortcomings:

  • Tar can dry out, forming tiny cracks as the wall shrinks and expands.
  • Tar is not environmentally friendly.
  • Tar is more difficult to apply than spray-on sealers.

Since tar is an ugly, black coating, contractors must avoid making the tar line rise higher than the grade line. And unfortunately, tar is very difficult to apply properly.

If gradeline tar is applied ower than the soil line, then the concrete is not truly sealed off from the soil, and moisture and humidity will still be allowed through. Unless you can exactly predict where the soil line will be after backfill, this will be an ongoing battle for you during new construction.

Concrete Treat provides a faster application than tar because you don't have to be concerned with the gradeline -- it can be be sprayed straight to the top of the wall.   It applies as a spray-on silicate barrier, drying within 2-4 hours, and can be applied at 28 degrees and rising.

Concrete Treat is an effective long-term solution for sealing outer concrete walls, as well as floors, outdoor concrete, garages, or any other concrete surface you wish to protect.

The Superior Way to Seal Concrete Foundation Grade Lines

Concrete Treat can be mixed with a "disappearing ink" dye that will stay visible long enough for the inspector to verify that a gradeline seal has been applied. It then becomes invisible, while protecting your concrete better than gradeline tar.

To apply Concrete Treat along a foundation, simply spray it on with an air or airless sprayer, or roll it on.  This concrete sealer can be applied to dry or newly-formed concrete equally, and it dries within 2-4 hours.

There's no scheduling issues, and with one application, you're done.  It's as simple as that.

Concrete Treat sprays clear on concrete walls.  If you need the application to be visible for approval from inspectors, Concrete Treat can also be provided mixed with a unique dye that fades within 72 hours. This will allow for the inspectors to easily see that the foundation walls have been dampproofed, with none of the disadvantages of a visible tar line.

Concrete Treat can be applied year-round, and is quickly able to protect the concrete from cold and moisture.
